SENSATIONAL SOUL FOOD DELIGHTS TO BE DISHED UP AT
2005 LOS ANGELES BLACK BUSINESS EXPO & TRADE SHOW
City’s Most Popular Restaurants Bring True Flavor
To
Lawry’s Tastin’ Black Culture Food Court
LOS ANGELES -- Peach cobbler, fried catfish, and
jerk chicken will be just a few of the culinary delights available
to the public at the Lawry’s Tastin’ Black Food Court during the
2005 Los Angeles Black Business Expo & Trade Show (LABBETS), at
the Los Angeles Convention Center, October 28-30, 2005
"The Food Court is always a phenomenal success at
the Expo," said Harold Hambrick, Expo Executive Director. "I
love to watch them grow closer as they share kitchens and resources
and work together early to plan their menus and save on costs." he
said.
"We need to gain a greater share of the pie that
the our community spends on fine dining, increase our buying power
and share resources on a greater scale as Black restaurateurs," said
Muriel Jones, co-owner of Shabazz Seafood, regarding the
collaborative nature of the restaurateurs.
The Lawry’s Tastin’ Black Food Court also
provides a showcase for participating eateries, with customers who
have not yet visited their restaurant.
"The Expo really helps our business as far as
getting new customers," said Jones. "They see our sign and smell the
food and want to know where they can get that good fish."
The participating restaurateurs include:
Muriel Shabazz and Curtis Pearson of Shabazz Seafood; Greg Dulan of
Dulan’s Restaurant; Derrick Angus of Derrick’s Jamaican
Cuisine; Horace Robinson of Coley’s Kitchen; Desiree Edwards of
Watt’s Coffee House;
